I've always had a fascination with wood. My father was an arborist so I grew up with an innate knowledge of tree identification and an appreciation for each individual tree, a cluster of forest, and our connection to the natural world. I pursued a life outdoors earning a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies, I later joined the National Park Service and worked as a ranger in multiple National Parks.
Eventually like the trees I love, I grew roots. Now with a beautiful family my life has come full circle to working with trees and wood, but in a more intimate way. The vast majority of the wood I use is either harvested sustainably from my own property or salvaged locally. I standby the hikers motto of "leaving only footprints," and carry on that mindset into my craft and career.
